This post is a little late but hey at least I’m posting something up! What a busy weekend it was! With family and visitors coming from Arizona, the Bay Area and Kansas it was sure to be a fun filled (and extended) weekend!
Saturday Morning I headed to Cars and Coffee in San Clemente with my buddies Steve and Ronnie who both have Lamborghini Huracans. Afterwards we headed to Newport Lamborghini’s monthly cars how and it was packed! So many people and exotics! I even saw a La Ferrari in person for the first time, very nice car but I’d still take a McLaren P1 GTR over it any day!
Later that day I just hung out at my sisters and met her in laws from Kansas, my sister’s family from Arizona and family from the Bay area. Most of the night consisted of playing hide and seek with the kids as well as some intense games of Knockout!
Sunday was an early start for my brother, his wife and I. We participated in A Better World Running’s Red, White and Blue run that day. I participated again in teh 5K as well as Jennifer. Cong did the half Marathon. I bested my previous time for a PR of 24:55 in the 5K, beating my previous PR by a minutes and 7 seconds. Was pretty proud of myself with this finish but I still wouldn’t have won my age group if they were keeping track of that, gotta keep pushing!
After the run it was more of just hanging out with everybody and eating lots of good food! There was some competitive cornhole action going on, I went undefeated for the date until the last game of the night! unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures from the rest of Sunday.
Monday was an interesting day. We took a Hollywood Tour for the Homes of the Stars. I’ve never done anything like that before and rarely do I ever go to Hollywood for anything really. After the Tour we walked along Hollywood Blvd for a little then headed to Pnks for some lunch. After that, we headed to Venice Beach for some ice cream and people watching. Again, sorry for the lack of pictures, was enjoying the day with good people.
Tuesday… the Fourth of July… What to do? We didn’t do what we’ve been doing the past few years which was BBQ and some pool action and Julian’s Grandparent’s. Instead we opted to go to Disneyland! I was pleasantly surprised at the efficiency of our visit. Due to the holiday and so many families at home BBQing and doing their own thing, the wait times at Disneyland were no longer than 15 minutes. With the planned out fastpasses, I feel as if we actually ran out of things to do, we even went on rides that I typically wouldn’t go on.
All in all it was a busy yet very fun weekend with great people. There was no drama, all the kids played well together and there was a lot of delicious food all weekend!
